The Book is A4, contains 111 pages and tells the story of the Lancaster Convalescent Home for wounded soldiers that was in St Edward's Vicarage, the lives of the 45 men named on the St Edward's Church war memorial on Racecommon Road Barnsley and information about their families.
It includes information about Edward George Lancaster of Keresforth Hall and the war years vicars, including extracts from the absent voters lists in 1918 for some streets in the area.
Illustrated with lots of photos and newspaper clippings.
I am selling this on behalf of the Kingstone Parish Heritage Group in Barnsley.
I am the Great Nephew David Moxon, My Grand-Father was Albert Earnest Moxon, Who fought and survived the great war, however my great uncles, Fred & Arthur volunteered their services to the then King, I am proud to be connected to these brave men. I myself am 66 years old and only young-un regarding their contribution.
